Inspired by our own wedding, Whitfield & Ward started in 2012, growing from a small Cheshire shop to a larger Wilmslow location, where we’ve since crafted bespoke suits and wedding hire suits for thousands of couples across the region.

We proudly serve a wide area across Cheshire, Manchester, Lancashire and beyond. From our Wilmslow location, we bring our bespoke and hire suit services to clients throughout the region, ensuring that every couple receives the personal, high-quality experience they deserve, no matter where they are.

Bespoke process Hire process

A Whitfield & Ward bespoke suit is created across 5 hours of appointments, making it an experience of a lifetime.

Creating a bespoke suit with us is a truly personal experience. We make it clear, simple and lots of fun. Walking you through each stage of the process, your bespoke suit will be designed and developed across 5 hours of exciting appointments. A Whitfield and Ward bespoke suit is made with expert care and attention to detail, it will be like no other suit you've worn.

We specialise in wedding suits, crafting hundreds of bespoke designs each year. With extensive knowledge of venues throughout the North West and wedding themes, we'll guide you to a suit that perfectly fits your celebration.

Shopping for your wedding hire suits with us will be a special one-to-one experience. We’ll help you create a standout wedding suit look, professionally fitting you and your groomsmen so you look and feel amazing on your big day. From your first appointment to your last we’ll be on hand to help and guide you through the process.

CONSULTATION & DISCOVERY

5-6 months before

Discovering your wedding suit with us will be one of the most memorable parts of your groom prep! Your first 1 hour consultation, at our Wilmslow store near Manchester will be all about you. Your ideas, your venue and your theme. In this appointment you’ll find out what suits you and makes you feel great. You won’t be rifling through rails or looking at fabric swatches. You’ll try on lots of sample custom suits and bespoke suits as we personally guide you to find the perfect wedding suit. Once you’ve found the one, we’ll explore coordinating groomsman looks so that you absolutely stand out.

DESIGN & MEASURE

4-5 months before

In your 2 hour, 1-to-1 design appointment we bring your ideas to life. Dressed in a sample suit, we’ll guide you to create a suit to complement your build, colouring and personality. We walk you through each stage of the process making it clear and simple, so you are fully in control. When you’ve finalised your design, we take over 40 body measurements to accentuate your body shape and create the perfect fit. When you design a custom suit or bespoke suit with us, you’ll be in our expert hands.

1 month before

Ideally your first fit should be a month before your wedding, that’s why it’s important to start the process early! In this 1 hour appointment, we’ll check the fit of your finished suit and help you accessorise your look with our exclusive range of ties and pocket squares. If you’re having groomsmen hire suits, we will explore how to coordinate their look with your bespoke suit.

FINESSE

1 week before

When you come to collect your suit we’ll spend an hour with you, showing you how to dress, to achieve the perfect look in your wedding pictures. We’ll also give you some ideas on how best to capture the details of your bespoke suit, in your wedding pictures. We’ll be on hand for help, advice and well wishes for your big day.

DESIGN

4-5 months before

Nearer to your wedding date we offer a 1 hour, one-to-one styling appointment to finalise the design of your wedding hire suit. Together we’ll help you decide on your suit style; morning suit, 3-piece suit or dinner suit. Tie in your colour scheme and coordinate your groomsmen’s look with yours.

FIT

2-3 months before

At Whitfield & Ward, we make your groomsmen’s suit fittings a special part of your wedding journey. Measurements will be taken by our knowledgeable and friendly team at our luxurious Wilmslow store. Our 12 years of fitting experience, and range of different suit cuts ensures a fantastic fit for each and every member of your party. Any last minute changes or groomsmen traveling from overseas can be accommodated by our on site warehouse too.

FINESSE AND COLLECT

3-4 days before

When you come to collect your suit we’ll dress you one last time to check the fit of your suit is perfect. We’ll show you how to dress, to achieve the perfect look in your wedding pictures. We’ll check through your groomsmen’s suits and be on hand for help, advice and well wishes for your big day.

Our hire suits start at £225. They are made to our exclusive design, to the same standard as a custom suit and professionally fitted for a fantastic fit. A Whitfield & Ward hire suit offers a custom quality suit for the same price as a cheap retail suit.

A custom suit starts at £895 and is made to your unique design and body measurements to accentuate your body shape. A custom suit is created over 5 hours of appointments to your personal design. A custom suit is yours to keep, just like your bride's wedding dress.

Fabric choices are almost limitless for custom and bespoke suits. We are approved stockists of all the major fabric houses and can also source specific cloths.

We offer black, navy, ocean blue, grey, beige, black velvet in our hire range. We have over 30 waistcoat and hundreds of tie options to personalise your hire suit look.

You don’t need a definite colour scheme for your first wedding suit appointment. Your first appointment is about discovering what style and colour looks good on you. We recommend having your initial appointment 5-6 months before your wedding. With hire suits, you can change the colour up to a month before the wedding if necessary. With bespoke you're colour choice can be 2-3 months before the wedding when you design your suit.

Our bespoke suits start at £1,500. A bespoke suit is made to your unique design, taken from over 40 body measurements, across 5 hours of appointments. Design options, styles and fabric choice are unlimited.

A custom suit starts at £895 and is made to your size and design but has a carefully curated selection of design, style and fabric options.

In your first 1 hour suit consultation we will fully explain both options and will can both samples on so you can understand the difference.

Your first appointment is all about you, what you’d like to wear and what suits you. Our complete focus is on creating a stand out look for the groom so we’d recommend bringing just your best man and/or partner to your first appointment. Once you’ve chosen and booked we can bring in your groom's party to be fitted too.

As all our stock is held on our premises so we can fit, up to the day before the wedding, if necessary. We also have a sizing guide video for any groomsmen that can’t make it to store earlier for a fitting.

Depending on the time of year we can make a suit in 6-8 weeks. However our recommendation is to start the process 5-6 months before your wedding. Have an initial appointment and discover what looks good on you. Then the design and measure can come 12-8 weeks before your wedding.

Ideally we'd like all the groomsmen measured 10-8 weeks before the wedding day. However as all our stock is held on our premises so we can fit, up to the day before the wedding, if necessary
