Be The Leading Man At Your Wedding In One Of Our Suits

Every modern gent wants to be the epitome of a style at their wedding, however, a lot of men don’t often wear a suit from day-to-day and so it can seem quite a daunting decision to make.  As a specialist tailor in Cheshire, we offer bespoke, made to measure and hire wedding suits for the groom’s party. So here is our simple guide to ensure you get a well-cut suit and a truly distinctive look for your special day.

To create a killer wedding look, you may want to brush up on your style skills.  A good idea is to turn up to your appointment with a basic vision of what you’d like, which will help our consultants to bring your look together. Pinterest is an obvious place to start for inspiration and will allow you to build a mood board of ideas. Instagram is another great platform to look at what those with a sartorial approach to fashion are wearing; some of our favourites are David Gandy, Oliver Cheshire and Christopher Korey. And don’t forget the timeless style icons such as Paul Newman, Steve McQueen and Cary Grant, who form the archetype for the modern day gentleman.

We’d advise you to look for ways to personalise your wedding suit to set you apart from the rest of your groom’s party.  Think about details like waistcoats, ties and pocket squares, which can add a splash of interest and create a massive impact on your overall look, allowing you to stand out as the leading man.

Once you have a basic vision of what you’d like to wear, select some tailors in Cheshire and Manchester to visit and ensure you look at the quality of the tailoring offered.  Not all tailors are the same, so look for one who has a great selection of fabrics, good expertise and most importantly understands your style.  For bespoke and made-to-measure suits, ask to see examples of their work to get an idea of their ‘house’ style, along with the quality and cut of their suits.  For ‘off the peg’ hire suits, look for a tailor that can offer a range of cuts to suit both you and the rest of your grooms party.  At Whitfield & Ward, we make sure that our offer is always up to date with not only the latest suit styles but accessories too.  Our jackets and trousers come in choice of super slim, slim and regular fit to ensure that everyone looks and feels great.

Don’t forget to look at the range and quality of fabrics on offer. It’s good to go armed with an idea of colour, pattern and texture – again, Pinterest and Instagram can work really well for this.  Look for a tailor who will guide you through the options available, to a choice that works for both your style vision and budget.  For hire suits, be sure to check the material content and feel the fabric weight.  At Whitfield & Ward, all our hire suits are made from a lightweight, 100% Italian wool Barathea, which has a fantastic drape and is more wearable, especially in the summer months.

Finally, and most importantly, you need to pick something that will flatter your shape and is easy to wear.  There are a wide variety of styles available for jackets, trousers, and waistcoats, and sometimes the style you have admired on your favourite celebrity may not be right for you. Our consultants will be able to give you some recommendations as to what will suit your body shape best and make you feel like a million dollars.

At Whitfield & Ward, we do everything by appointment, which allows us to dedicate the time needed to help you get the perfect suit for your wedding.  We’ll explore colours, fits and styles with you to ensure we deliver a wow look on your special day.  Based in Wilmslow, we cover the whole of Cheshire and Manchester.
