Modern stationery designer Emma, from Bobbin and Beau Designs and Mike had a very stylish, pared back wedding at the beautiful rustic wedding venue Owen House Barn.
As a couple interested in design, they fell in love with our wedding suits on Pinterest so they were delighted to find us at a wedding fair at their venue.
Mike said;
“I chose Whitfield & Ward because compared to the other wedding suit hire shops we had visited you had the best variety to choose from. I loved everything you had on display and you had so many great options. And the great thing was that they were all available in the shop for me to try on there and then.”
Their vision was to have a very minimalistic wedding theme, very simple, relaxed and natural with the focus on family and friends. They wanted a more pared down version of a rustic wedding with less wheelbarrows! This is why they picked Owen House wedding barn, a perfect canvas on which to add their styling ideas.
Emma designed all their own wedding flowers, stationery and dressed the venue. The look was a really sophisticated art deco theme with a simple green, gold and white palette. Nothing was over cluttered; less is more was the key to Emma’s look!
Emma and Mike’s relaxed approach flowed into their wedding suit selection too! They both fell in love with our burgundy country tweed waistcoat. Emma said;
“The tweed waistcoat led the way. We loved the rich warm colour and thought the burgundy looked so good on Mike. I wasn’t concerned with Mikes suit matching into our bridesmaid’s dresses, we just wanted the suit to look great in it’s own right. We didn’t feel we needed everything to match to perfection.”
Emma and Mike’s groomsmen used our wedding suit hire services to tie in with Mike’s wedding suit. They wore our slim fit navy Highgrove lounge suit and to pull the look together we custom-made the groomsmen’s ties in the same fabric as Mike’s country tweed waistcoat.
When we asked Emma what advice she would give other couples looking for wedding suit hire services, she said;
“Researching your ideas to get a clear idea of your wedding style is key. As a designer, gaining a real understanding of my client’s personality and wedding vision is the most important part of the process as it helps me to offer bespoke designs which truly reflect the couple and ensure that their stationery sets the tone for their overall look…it’s all in the details after all! Pinterest and Instagram are great sources of inspiration but it can be a little daunting having so many different options on offer so if you’re feeling a little overwhelmed by it all I’d recommend asking your wedding stationery designer or wedding stylist for help, we can often suggest ideas that you may not have even thought of. Oh, and finally go to Whitfield and Ward for your wedding suits, they’re the best!”
