We first met Michael and Claire back in July 2017, after Claire found us through Instagram while looking into various wedding suppliers. Our unique style instantly caught her eye and after coming in for a consultation, the couple made the decision to hire their wedding suits from us.

Before their visit, Claire had already put some thought into Michael’s look. Her dream was to have Michael wearing a classic morning suit, but she also wanted him to stand out from the rest of his groomsmen.

At first, Michael was unsure about wearing a tailcoat based on what he had seen at various weddings, where he felt they were either old fashioned or ill-fitting. However, his perception instantly changed after trying our slim-fit Balmoral morning suit and was amazed at how flattering it looked.

“I really wasn’t sure about a morning suit, but Nicola asked me to trust her and try it and I’m so glad I did! The fit was amazing. Once I’d tried it on, I didn’t want to wear anything else.”

Michael’s original plan was to have his full suit tailor made but was so surprised at the quality and fit, that he decided to rent the tailcoat and buy just the shirt, trousers and waistcoat, which he would wear again.

“I never thought I’d hire, but the moment we walked in, the quality of the product, the staff and the shop totally reassured me.”

For the big day, Michael wore our Balmoral tailcoat in navy, with navy trousers and a horse shoe-style waistcoat featuring a classic, Prince of Wales check. He teamed this with a fitted white shirt along with a polka dot tie and pocket square, which looked impressive in black and white photographs! He finished his look with a fob watch, tie clip and a stylish pair of oxblood brogues, which were a great contrast against his navy suit.

“Having my trousers, waistcoat and shirt tailor made gave me the perfect fit I was looking for and made me feel really confident on the day.”

To compliment Michael’s look, his groomsmen wore our navy Balmoral morning suit from our hire range, with a single-breasted waistcoat in the same Prince of Wales check. They also wore plain navy ties, which allowed Michael to have a subtle point of difference.

“We loved the personalised service we received from both Nicola and Craig. We chose them because they advised us so well and knew exactly what they were talking about. Once we’d met them, we never considered looking elsewhere.”
