Sam & Keyvan’s Tipi Wedding

Added 5 years ago

Sam and Keyvan wanted their same sex wedding to be a relaxed a comfortable day. They had their ceremony on a farmer’s field near Pooley Bridge in an eclectically dressed tipi, read on to find out how we helped Sam design his tailored suit.

 Making sure that everyone was relaxed and enjoyed their wedding day was key for Sam and Keyvan. They had their speeches during the ceremony so everyone could go straight into eating and drinking.  Pit fires, a help yourself bar, wood fire pizza and street food style dim sum, all added to the organic and relaxed celebration of their same sex wedding.

The tipi was adorned with colourful dreamcatchers, natural green and white flowers and guests were invited to “choose a seat not a side, we’re all family once the knot is tied.”.

Sam, who is 6’ 3” with broad shoulders had struggled to find something to fit him off the peg for his wedding day. He had visited other tailors but found them very uninspiring, he said;

“I didn’t get any ideas from the other tailors I visited all they would do was ask me what I wanted and showed me some materials. It was so hard to conceptualise.”

Sam, who owns Samuel Charles Hair discovered us through one of his clients who had got their tailored wedding suit from us.  On his first visit, we dressed Sam in different coloured suits, with different styles and cuts, from our sample range to help him see what he could have.  He said;

“It was so good to see what different colours and cuts could do for me in the mirror. I immediately knew I was in good hands and would get my tailored wedding suit from Whitfield & Ward.”

Sam had a brighter blue suit and waistcoat in mind and we suggested that he break it up with a contrasting pattern waistcoat to add some extra interest.  Sam said;

“I had always wanted a scooped, U shaped waistcoat but had struggled to find one off the peg. Whitfield & Ward designed one to fit me perfectly and I was so pleased.”

He teamed his beautiful French blue suit with a tan and blue check waistcoat and an Italian silk paisley tie in shades of blue and gold.

To follow the relaxed theme of their wedding, all Sam and Keyvan’s groomsmen wore their own suits with a rainbow pattern of socks!

“Whitfield & Ward made Keyvan and I feel so welcome.  They don’t care who you are, they just want everyone to be happy with what they wear for their wedding.  Going to a tailor can be a bit intimidating but these guys just made us feel so relaxed.”
