When Should I Book My Wedding Suit Hire?

Added 1 year ago

When to book my wedding suit is a question we are often asked.

Here, we answer the three big misconceptions about booking your wedding suit hire or bespoke suit hire. We’ve also put together a handy overview of what you need to do and when.

 1. My Wedding Is Next Year. I’ve got loads of time.

In our view, it is never too early to book your wedding suit hire, but as a general rule, you should be starting 6 to 9 months before your wedding, especially if your wedding date is a busy spring/summer weekend or during school holidays.

At Whitfield and Ward, we uphold high standards to ensure that our customers receive outstanding service; we limit the number of weddings we cater for each weekend and stop taking bookings at full capacity!

Think of it like a popular restaurant: if you want a table on Saturday night, you need to book early.

2. I’m Not at My Target Weight.

We recommend that the bride and groom come to the first one hour appointment independently.

The first appointment is all about finding the right look; the groom will try on lots of different wedding suit styles and colours.  They will explore both wedding hire suits and bespoke suit options.

The groom isn’t measured until much later in the process.

3. We Haven’t Finalised the Colour Scheme.

Again, in your first appointment, we are exploring suit styles with you and what looks great on you.  Some customers know instantly what they want, some don’t decide to a few months before the wedding.

Your first appointment is about understanding the quality and fit of our suits and the service we can provide.  Final details be resolved later.

Wedding Suit Hire Process

Timeline of dates before the wedding date:

  • Six to 12 months before – first consultation, a one hour appointment
  • Two to Three months before – groomsmen.
  • The groom can be measured up to 14 days before the wedding date.
  • Three days before – suit collection.

Bespoke Wedding Suit Process

Timeline of dates before the wedding date:

  • Six to 14 months before – first consultation, One hour appointment
  • Four months before – suit design and measurement, Two hour appointment
  • One month before – fittings, styling and collection

When planning for your wedding suits, it is crucial to start the process early.

The experience should be enjoyable and not rushed under any time pressure. Booking your wedding suits is as crucial as reserving your venue, photographer, and flowers.

It is essential to book early to prevent any disappointments. we do not have unlimited suits and slots for everyone, and we do get full during the summer; we try not to let anyone down.

We hope you found this guide useful, but if you have any questions, we’d be happy to help you with them.
