Joe & Catherine At Peckforton Castle

On July 27th, Joe married his fiancé Catherine at Peckforton Castle. For their big day, we helped them  design a bespoke waistcoat for Joe, which he wore with one of our classic morning suits. Find out more here.

For many years, Joe had passed our shop and admired our window display. So, when he and Catherine decided to get married, we were at the top of their list to call for an appointment.

Joe and Catherine came in for their first visit in July 2017 and based on what they had saw in our shop window, their first thought was to try on our Highgrove lounge suit. As with all our couples, we encouraged Joe and Catherine to consider some other styles and colours in order for them to see our full range and get the most out of their appointment. Joe loved the look of our lounge suits, but as he often wears a lounge jacket, he was open to trying our Balmoral morning suit and to his surprise, they both loved it! Joe felt the tailcoat was a little more striking and gave him a completely different look for his wedding day.

Joe and Catherine were very well organised and booked their wedding suits with us over a year in advance before we got fully booked. After their first visit, we suggested they come back closer to their wedding date for another styling appointment; this was so they could check they were 100% happy with what they had originally chosen. During their second visit, Joe fell in love with a flannel, check waistcoat from our new bespoke collection and decided to have the exact one made for himself. Joe commented:

“Every time I came in to see you, I saw something that I liked but when I saw that waistcoat, I knew it would give me that extra special look I had admired in your window.”

During the design process, Joe kept it classic with a single-breasted style, but added his own personal touch with a colourful lining that featured a unique skull design. His lining choice was inspired by the Mexican “Day of the Dead” festival that he and Catherine attended while on Holiday together. He also had ‘Mr & Mrs Naughton’ embroidered on the inside along with their wedding date and venue, which added sentimental value.

To compliment Joe’s look, his groomsmen also wore our Balmoral morning suit in navy, complete with subtle grey waistcoats and antique rose ties to complement the colour of the bridesmaids’ dresses.

When asked about his experience, Joe commented:

“The whole experience was brilliant; from designing my waistcoat to picking and fitting my hire suits. You really knew your stuff and helped me to get my dream wedding look. I would thoroughly recommend you guys.”
